Why not? After all, I took the SATs 3 times.
Why give this girl such a hard time? She's 18, she's on national TV, and she's probably a little nervous. Besides... I can understand why she misunderstood the question. I was surprised to hear that 1 in 5 Americans couldn't find the United States on a map. I'd like to know where that statistic came from (try this). Lauren Caitlin Upton referenced that sentiment when she stated that she and all of her friends knew where the US was on a map.
On the other hand, I work with some people that couldn't find their own @$$ with both hands and a flashlight.

I feel for the girl...after all she was nervous and probably was not even listening to the question. I am almost certain that she had a lot running through her mind and that probably caused her to flub up the answer. Heck I have been asked things before and I knew the answer but what came out of my mouth was completely different...that was because I was nervous and un prepared. SHe is a cute girl and I think she is a lot brighter than that...I saw her on the today show this morning and was inpressed by her answer when she was given the chance to re answer it with Matt Lauer etc...GIve the girl a break!!!
